Kokudo Foundation Scholarships at the Chiba University in Japan

The Chiba University is pleased to invite applications for the Kokudo Foundation Scholarship Programmes. This scholarship is available for Japanese student who will study undergraduate or graduate program at the university. All diciplines are eligible for this scholarship. No application will be accepted after May 15, 2017.
Award Value
The winning students will receive benefit of ¥100,000 per month.

Eligibility and Criteria
Students who come to Japan for studies or research; are of an upstanding character and in good academic standing; are in good health, and are recognized as having financial difficulties with payment of tuition.
Potential recipients are those from countries outside of Japan who matriculated as regular students (either undergraduate or graduate) as of April 2017, regardless of academic department or field of study.
Those who are able to attend an interview held in Tokyo (planned for early June).
University asks that an academic transcript and either a certification of enrolment or a graduation diploma be presented at the end of each academic year.
Recipients will be asked to join assemblies organized by our foundation.

Internship with World Trade Organization

Description
The WTO Secretariat maintains a limited internship programme for post-graduate university students wishing to gain practical experience and deeper knowledge of the multilateral trading system. Only a limited number of such internship posts is available. Assignments given to interns are intended to enhance interns’ knowledge and understanding of the WTO and of trade policy more generally. However, the needs of the Division recruiting an intern will be paramount in determining the precise nature of assignments.
Internships are generally of a duration of up to 24 weeks, the length of the internship depending on the project the interns is requested to work on, and on the needs of each Division. The granting of an internship does not entail in any way the right to an extension thereof nor to a vacancy in another part of the Secretariat. Interns may nevertheless apply to external vacancies. Internships can start at any time during the year.
Eligibility
Interns are recruited from among nationals of WTO Members state;
Interns will have completed their undergraduate studies in a relevant discipline (e.g. economics, law, political science, international relations), and shall have completed at least one year of their postgraduate studies;
The minimum age for an intern shall be 21 years and the maximum age 30 years.
Benefits
Paid interns receive a daily allowance of CHF 60 (including week-ends and official holidays falling within the selected period). No other remuneration of any kind shall be paid.

UN-OHCHR Indigenous Fellowship Programme 2018

Description
The Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is seeking applications for its Indigenous Fellowship Programme (IFP) 2018, a comprehensive human rights training programme that was established by the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) in the context of the first International Decade of the World’s Indigenous Peoples (1995-2004).
The programme contributes to build the capacity and expertise of indigenous representatives on the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights in general and indigenous issues in particular, so they are in a better position to protect and promote the rights of their communities at the international level.
The aim of the programme is to give indigenous persons the opportunity to gain knowledge on the UN system and mechanisms dealing with human rights issues in general and indigenous issues in particular. The IFP is held annually and fellows from the 4 language components of the programme are trained together with simultaneous interpretation during 4 to 5 weeks in Geneva.
Fellowship
Participants of the Fellowship Programme are entitled to the following:
Return ticket (economy class) from their country of residence to Geneva;
Daily or monthly stipend to cover their basic needs in Geneva, including modest accommodation, food and transport;
Basic health insurance for the duration of the Programme;
OHCHR will not cover any additional expenses such as visa fees and travel insurance.
Eligibility 
The candidate must be indigenous (non-indigenous persons will not be taken into consideration, even if they have close links with indigenous communities and/or organizations);
Age should not be a limitation to participation in the programme;
Formal education should not be a limitation to participation in the IFP given the socio-economic barriers confronted by many indigenous peoples that limit access to formal educational institutions;
Candidates should agree to train other indigenous persons after the return to their respective communities/organizations;
The candidate should be proposed and his/her candidacy supported by his/her indigenous organization and/or community. It is desirable that the sponsoring organization has a firm constituency or membership and that it is representative;
The candidate should have a good working knowledge of the language, in which the programme is imparted.

Qualifications and experience: You will bring to the role:
a bachelor’s degree or higher, with a specialisation relevant to the work of the DG/HR teams, in one of the following fields: human resources management, business administration, employment/industrial relations, social and organisational psychology, law (preferably EU employment and social security law), business information systems, or another relevant discipline;
an advanced command of English and a good knowledge of at least one other official language of the EU;

SWP Internship for International Students

Description
SWP offers a limited number of three-month full-time internships for highly motivated students. They are particularly interested in attracting young academics in political science and related social sciences (economics, law, administration, occasionally also regional studies, ethnology or journalism). The interns’ based offices will be in Berlin-Wilmersdorf.
Eligibility
They accept students at the following stages:
Students already studying for a Master degree (also Hauptstudium in the German Magister/Staatsexamen/Diplom system);
Holders of Bachelor degree who can demonstrate they are applying for a place on a master’s degree course and who expect to be regular master’s students at the time proposed for the internship;
Holders of Bachelor/ Master degree who are enrolled on an additional Bachelor or Master degree course.
Remuneration
Interns at SWP receive EUR 300 per month. Exceptions are only possible where the internship is already funded by another public or private organisation. The deadlines for applications:

OSCE Research Fellowship 2017

The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly International Secretariat regularly engages eight or nine graduate students of political science, law and international relations from universities in OSCE countries as Research Fellows. Fellowship positions are granted for six month periods. Housing is provided free of charge and all Research Fellows receive a small stipend of 564 euros per month, which covers minimum living expenses in Copenhagen or Vienna. Students join the International Secretariat in order to gain practical experience in the field of international affairs, and the Assembly, in turn, benefits from increased language capacity as well as a strong research capacity.
The primary duty of Research Fellows is to conduct substantive research on various projects for the Assembly and to provide assistance to its officials and staff members. Research Fellows regularly prepare briefing reports for parliamentary delegations, including for election observation missions and official visits by Parliamentary Assembly Members. They also assist in the planning and execution of meetings of the Assembly, work with Assembly Committees, follow the work of OSCE Field Missions, and assist in the drafting of various Assembly reports. In addition, Fellows are at times asked to help draft speeches and statements and write papers on special projects undertaken by the Assembly’s Secretariat. They also assist with day-to-day practical work in the office such as copying, filing and other necessary chores.

United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Fellowship

Description
The Fellowship Program aims at fostering intercultural exchange and interfaith understanding by engaging with young civil society leaders and professionals from Europe, North-America (EUNA), the Middle East and North-Africa (MENA). Framed around two-week exchange trips between EUNA and MENA countries, the Program sends participants from each geographic area to their counterparts’ region.
The Fellowship provides participants with first hand exposure to diversity and with the opportunity to experience cultural immersion while interacting with a wide range of local actors and partners. In every country visited, participants are being provided with crucial comprehension tools to help them understand the plurality of their surroundings, and to get an extensive grasp of host countries’ culture, politics, society, religion, media and more.

Born between January 1st 1982 and December 31st 1992;
Fluent in English;

The Relations Group team are so busy right now we are drowning in radio, TV and online campaigns; we are looking to recruit a few enthusiastic and creative interns to join our team for the summer! Our paid internships adopt a hands-on approach allowing you to tip your toes in a variety of tasks - the responsibilities range from liaising with the media, generating ideas and research for large UK brands and researching opportunities for future campaigns. You will also be writing blog posts and using social media. Creativity: You will need to identify what makes a story interesting for different radio presenters, brands, TV newsrooms or websites. Identify the hook and make it relevant for their audience and your ideas will turn into stories that will be broadcast to millions of people throughout the UK - week in week out!

Research: You will be researching many brands and relevant content ideas for campaigns; this involves a logical approach with an inquisitive mindset.

Italian Government Scholarships for Foreign and IRE Students in Italy, 2017-2018

For 2017/2018 academic year, applications are open for Italian government scholarships to both foreign and Italian citizens resident abroad (IRE) for studying in Italy. Scholarships are offered to carry out study, training and research projects in Italian Higher Education Institute (State-owned institutions or institutions legally recognised by the relevant State authorities).
The aim of these scholarships is to foster international cultural cooperation, spread the knowledge of the Italian language, culture and science, as well as promote the Italian economic and technological system throughout the world.
Italian Government promote the Italian language and culture abroad, through Italian schools, scholarships and grants for foreign citizens, language courses organised by the Italian Cultural Institutes, and archaeological missions.

Scholarships holders shall benefit from a health insurance policy to bear any expense due to illnesses or accidents for the duration of the scholarship. The diseases related to pre-existing physical or pathological conditions shall be excluded from the insurance.

Language skills and proficiency: Candidates shall submit a certificate showing their knowledge and proficiency in the Italian language, starting from the B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) The knowledge of the Italian language is not required for enrolling in the university courses fully provided in English. Only for the courses of Italian language and culture shall candidates submit a certificate showing their knowledge and proficiency in the Italian language, starting from the A2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
Nationality: Foreign citizens and Italian citizens resident abroad (IRE) can apply for these Italian Government Scholarships.

The maintenance of the Minamata Convention, SAICM and Special Programme websites, their continuous update, both in terms of design and substantial content, and troubleshooting.
The production and editing of databases and audio-visual contents, including online training tools such as webinars.
The development and maintenance of an online meeting registration system for the Minamata Convention and SAICM.
The development and maintenance of an online system for the submission of applications under the Special Programme.
The development and maintenance of the structure of a database for projects funded under the SAICM QSP, which can also be adapted for the Special Programme.
Promoting the visibility of the Minamata Convention, SAICM and Special Programme on social media and digital platforms.
