United Nations University PhD Internship

Description
Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD programme and have shown the ability to conduct research on developing economies. Preference will be given to candidate living or work in developing countries and who are at later stages of the PhD. The PhD Internship Programme gives registered doctoral students an opportunity to utilize the resources and facilities at UNU-WIDER for their PhD dissertation or thesis research, and to work with UNU-WIDER researchers in areas of mutual interest.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolled in a PhD programme and have shown ability to conduct research on developing economies; 
Candidates working in other social sciences may apply but should keep in mind that UNU-WIDER is an economics-focused institute;
Candidates should be fluent in oral and written English and possess excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills; 
Preference is given to applicants who are living or working in developing countries and who are at later stages of the PhD. 
Remuneration
UNU-WIDER provides the following:
Travel grant to cover the costs of travel to and from the location of your PhD granting institution;
Medical insurance (for medical and hospital services resulting from sickness and accident during your stay at UNU-WIDER);
A monthly stipend of EUR 1,600 to cover living expenses in Helsinki during the period of their internship.

EU Slovak Government Scholarships for Developing Countries, 2017-2018

The Government of the Slovak Republic each year awards scholarships for eligible developing countries’ students. These scholarships support full-time higher education study (Bachelor, Master and Postgraduate or Doctoral) conducted in the Slovak language in a chosen field.
The aim of the Government of the Slovak Republic Scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.
The Government of the Slovak Republic each year awards scholarships for eligible developing countries’ students. It is the central body of the state administration of the Slovak Republic for elementary, secondary and higher education, educational facilities, lifelong learning, science and for the state’s support for sports and youth.
Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.
Course Level: Scholarships are available for full-time higher education study (Bachelor, Master and Postgraduate or Doctoral) conducted in the Slovak language in a chosen field of study according to the applicable system of study programmes at public universities in the SR.
Study Subject(s): Scholarships are awarded for Teacher Training and Education Science, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Business and Administration, Ecological and Environmental Sciences; Building Engineering, Manufacturing and Communication; Agriculture, Forestry, Veterinary, Water Resource Management, Medical Sciences, Dental Surgery, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Non-Medical Health Sciences (all subjects are not available to all countries).
Scholarship Award: Scholarships of the Government of the Slovak Republic will comprise the following items in the 2016/2017academic year:
For the first and second levels of university study: monthly scholarship: 280 €
one-time stipend upon the commencement of study in the SR:  35 €
one-time stipend upon the completion of study in the SR: 100 €

The amount of the monthly scholarship may be adjusted in the event of a distinctive change in living standards in Slovakia between 2010 and 2016. Overview of fees in the course of study in the SR:
– dormitory accommodation: 46 – 79 €/month
– meals (7.00 €/day):  210 €/ month
Upon the commencement of studies, the following expenses must be covered:
-medical examination: Europe/Africa, Asia: 183 €/264 €
-interview related to entrance application procedure:  24 – 70 €
A similar situation applies upon the scholarship holder’s completion of studies due to increased costs related to
completion of degree work: approx. 33 €
Dissertation: approx. 50 €
translation and authentication of diploma: approx. 33 €
Incentive stipend – As of 1 September 2009, it shall be paid one year in arrears, (e.g., the stipend for excellent academic performance in the first year of study shall be paid in the 2nd year of study) as follows:
bonus for grade point average of  1.3: +   50 €/month
for PhD students for exams passed by the required deadline: + 170 €/year
Scholarships are provided for a specific period of time. In exceptional cases, the Commission of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the SR may pass decisions regarding changes of this period.  The Commission shall assess the reasons stated by the applicant in the written application and credibly confirmed by required documentation. Such decisions are final and may not be appealed. A scholarship that is revoked due to poor academic performance will not be provided to another applicant.
Scholarship can be taken in Slovak Republic
Eligibility:
A government scholarship may be awarded to a national of a partnering country as defined in Subsection (2) who a) has 1. temporary residence for the purpose of studies,10) 2. temporary residence as a third party national granted Slovak Living Abroad status,11) or 3. the right to stay on the territory of the Slovak Republic for a period in excess of three months,12)
A full-time student at a public university located in the Slovak Republic in one of the academic programs contained in the notice defined in Subsection 2 who demonstrates command of Slovak at the level required by the given public university, or 2. a participant in language education for the purposes of university studies (“language education”)
As of 1 September of the year in which the application for a government scholarship is submitted, 1. is at least 18 years of age and not more than 26 years of age with respect to language education for studies of a first-level or second-level academic program or an academic program combining first and second-levels or studies in such an academic program or 2. is at least 23 years of age and not more than 35 years of age with respect to language education for studies of a third-level academic program or studies in such an academic program.
Nationality: Students from developing countries can apply for these Slovak Government scholarships.
College Admission Requirement
Entrance Requirement: A school leaving certificate or university degree. If an applicant attained their highest level of education outside of the Slovak Republic, authentication of the signatures and the stamp of the school issuing proof of education is required by the state authority issuing such record or the state authority at the school’s location responsible for such authentication unless an international treaty stipulates otherwise. A certified translation is required of any record confirming the highest level of attained education or a birth certificate completed in any language other than Slovak, Czech, English, French or Spanish; such certified translation may be completed into any of these languages. A record of the highest level of education attained must be added electronically by 31 August at the latest – only applicable to students in their last year of studies.

English Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

Click at the home page on Registration and complete the registration form according assigned instructions, confirm by clicking on Register. After successfull registration, they will recieve a confirmation e-mail and a password which you need to log in to your account. Please fill in the application according to the instructions. Compulsory attachments must be added to the application. In the event that any of compulsory attachments will not be attached to the application the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sports of the SR will not accept this application and at the same time it will be automatically disqualified from the process of nomination for study.

Traineeship Opportunity at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France

Twice per year the Council of Europe welcomes young graduates into our organisation as trainees. For them it is a chance to gain valuable experience in a complex multi-cultural and stimulating work environment. The Council of Europe provides a comprehensive induction programme for trainees which enables them to find out about the structures, the activities and the international co-operation procedures followed by the Council of Europe, including the implementation of the European Convention on Human Rights. Trainees may attend conferences held within the Organisation, sittings of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, and meetings that may take place during their stay in Strasbourg.
The typical responsibilities given to trainees include:
 research work;
 preparation of draft reports and studies for meetings of experts;

The Professional Fellows Program 2017 in USA

Apply to become a Professional Fellow and travel to the US for six weeks in fall 2017! The fall program dates are tentatively set for October 10-November 17, 2017. The Professional Fellows Program (PFP) is sponsored by the US Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’, Professional Fellows Division. The program brings emerging leaders to the United States for intensive fellowships designed to broaden their professional expertise. Launched in 2013, the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) strengthens leadership development and networking in Southeast Asia. These two programs have come together as the new YSEALI PFP to build the leadership capabilities of youth in the region, strengthen ties between the United States and Southeast Asia, and nurture an ASEAN community.

Holland Government Scholarship for International Students, 2017-2018

Applications are invited for Holland Government Scholarship for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA). Scholarship is awarded for pursuing bachelor’s or master’s programmes at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
The Holland Scholarship Programme is the Netherlands’ national scholarship programme for both international and Dutch students. The aim of this programme is to raise the profile of Dutch higher education and to encourage student mobility both into and out of the Netherlands.
The Holland Scholarship is financed by the Dutch Ministry of Education, Culture and Science as well as several Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing bachelor’s or master’s programme at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
Study Subject(s): Scholarship is awarded in selected fields of study available at the participating Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.
Scholarship Award: The scholarship amounts to € 5,000. Applicants will receive this in the first year of their studies. Please note that this is not a full-tuition scholarship.
Scholarship can be taken in Netherlands (Holland)
Eligibility:
Your nationality is non-EEA.
You are applying for a full-time bachelor’s or master’s programme at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
You meet the specific requirements of the institution of your choice.
You have never before studied at an education institution in the Netherlands.
Nationality: Scholarship is open for international students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA).
How to Apply: You can apply for the Holland Scholarship at the Dutch institution of your choice. The institution will select those who will be granted the scholarship. You can find an overview of participating Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences, as well as selected fields of study.

Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme

Open to: early-career conservation professionals in the natural resource sector
Fellowship: free accommodation and boarding at the training venue and during excursions, as well as a contribution towards their travel expenses
 Description
The application process to the 2017-2019 cycle of the Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme for Future Leaders in Nature Conservation from the Countries of Central and Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, West and Central Asia is open from now on, until 30 May, 2017. The extra-occupational program combines learning on international best conservation practice and policy with management training, network development and a transfer project. Over a period of 1.5 years, four training modules are conducted at the International Academy for Nature Conservation on the Isle of Vilm in English language. The Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme is implemented by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) – the central scientific authority of the German federal government for both national and international nature conservation. The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the Secretariat of the Convention on Biological Diversity (SCBD), the Secretariat of the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), and the UNEP World Conservation Monitoring Center (UNEP-WCMC) support the program.
The program complements the range of national and international workshops and seminars on nature conservation topics offered by the agency’s International Nature Conservation Academy with a fellowship program for early-career conservation professionals. Prof. Klaus Toepfer, the former UNEP Director, has agreed to serve as patron for the program.
Eligibility
The Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme targets early-career conservation professionals in the natural resource sector, who have at least three years of professional experience, are fluent in English and preferably not older than 35 years;
The programme aims at emerging conservation leaders with proven outstanding abilities and motivation, who have the support of their home organizations to attend the course, a clear commitment to a career in their country of origin, and are citizens and residents of one of the eligible countries: Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Georgia, Hungary, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, FYR Macedonia, Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.
Fellowship
Participation in the Klaus Toepfer Fellowship Programme is free of charge. Participants will receive free accommodation and boarding at the training venue and during excursions, as well as a contribution towards their travel expenses. Health insurance during stays in Germany and visa application fees will also be covered by the program. Nevertheless, participants have to make a contribution towards their travel expenses.

British Council Languages Teacher Training Scholarships in UK, 2017

If you are passionate about French, German or Spanish you could receive a languages scholarship of £27,500 to support you during your teacher training.
As a Languages Teacher Training Scholar, you will, in addition to the financial support, receive access to mentor support and a range of professional development opportunities and resources.

To receive the scholarship you must also have secured a place on an eligible non-salaried languages teacher training scheme in England for the 2017/18 academic year by September 2017. But you can apply for the scholarship at the same time as applying for an eligible course. If you are unsure about your eligibility for the scholarship your chosen teacher training provider will be able to advise you.

Description
The University of Padova, one of the most ancient universities in the world, has a long tradition in the promotion of excellence of its students, regardless their nationality, gender, beliefs, or interests. Accordingly, every year the University of Padova promotes a program of excellence, the Galilean School of Higher Education. The school is named in honor of Galileo Galilei, the founder of modern Physics and Astronomy, who came to Padova in 1592, when he was 28 years old; the college where the School is hosted, Collegio Morgagni, takes its name from Giovanni Battista Morgagni, one of the founders of modern Medicine, who came to Padova in 1711, when he was 29 years old. Both men shared a great passion for all activities of the human mind, across a broad range of disciplines including literature, music, natural sciences. Such passion for excellence and a broad vision have deeply been rooted in the University of Padova throughout its history. At the Galilean School of Higher Education, students are recruited in the areas of Humanities (Classe di Scienze Morali), Natural Sciences (Classe di Scienze Naturali) and Social Sciences (Classe di Scienze Sociali).

Please, pay particular attention to the application deadlines, as they are 26 April 2017 for most English-taught Second Cycle Degrees. Be aware, that you cannot enroll to the Galilean School if you are not admitted and enrolled to a Second Cycle Degree at the University of Padova. 
Scholarship
The School will reimburse one round trip ticket from/to the country of origin (economy class) up to 1.500,00 Euros for each Academic Year, and cover the cost of books and miscellaneous documented expenses of educational nature, authorized and within reasonable limits. 
The School will provide free room and board in the University student houses and canteens.
The School reserves the right to assign a grant up to 5.000,00 Euros to the admitted students, as a contribution towards personal living expenses; this grant is subjected to the economic availability of the School and to the evaluation by a specific committee; no other scholarships will be compatible with this grant.

DBU Scholarship Exchange Programme with CEE Countries

Deadline:  varies from country to country
Open to: candidates from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Oblast Kaliningrad, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, BosniaHerzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo.
Scholarship: € 1,060 monthly. This scholarship is not subject to taxes or social security payments. Each scholarship recipient is also covered by health-, accidentand liability insurance. The DBU also supports a German language course before the beginning of the scholarship.
Description
The MOE Scholarship Exchange Program of the German Federal Environmental Foundation enables young scientists from Central and Eastern Europe to gather practically applicable experience for six to twelve months in Germany in the field of environmental protection. DBU activities in the MOE Scholarship Exchange Program now extend across 18 countries, from Estonia to Latvia, Lithuania, Oblast Kaliningrad, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, BosniaHerzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo.
Beyond the advanced professional qualification of the scholarship recipients, the program’s goal is the creation of a long-term network of German, Central and Eastern European experts in the field of environmental and nature protection, and the elimination of obstacles to cooperation across all borders in this work. The international integration takes place through participation in the International Summer Academy and in seminars, in the awarding of the German Environmental Prize, and through the various alumni associations. In all MOE countries, an annual meeting of DBU alumni is held. The majority of applicants come from the disciplines of natural and engineering sciences. They generally favor attending German Universities and extramural research institutes. But also high on the wish list are German companies, associations, ministries and environmental authorities.
Eligibility
Applications are accepted from university graduates from the above-named countries of Central and Eastern Europe. The studies program must have been completed with above-average exams (Master‘s, Magister degree/diploma) not more than three years in the past. Applicants must be citizens of one of the previously named countries and have a permanent residence in their home country at the time of the application.
Priority for scholarships is given to persons who have not previously studied in Germany. All applicants must have adequate knowledge of the German language and demonstrate this, at the latest, at the beginning of the scholarship period (through a language school diploma/certificate, language level B1). The scholarship is not intended for students who wish to write a doctoral thesis or carry out a doctoral studies program at a German institute of higher learning. Nor is the scholarship for persons who, at the time of their application, are already active in Germany within the framework of advanced qualification or the practice of a profession. PhD students may not complete their doctoral studies during the DBU scholarship program.

Scholarship

The scholarship amount is € 1,060 monthly. This scholarship is not subject to taxes or social security payments. Each scholarship recipient is also covered by health-, accidentand liability insurance. The DBU also supports a German language course before the beginning of the scholarship.

40 Scholarships for International Students at University of Messina in Italy, 2017-2018

The University of Messina (UniME) is offering 40 scholarships for international students. These scholarships are available for students enrolling to a UniME two-year long Master degree programme (Laurea Magistrale) for the academic year 2017/2018.
For the purposes of the Call, international students are those students holding a degree awarded by a foreign University (not Italian) whilst with the term “enrollment” it is considered the registration to the first year of a Master degree course (Laurea Magistrale).
The University of Messina is a public university located in Messina, Italy. Founded in 1548 by Ignatius of Loyola, it became the model for hundreds of Jesuit colleges. The university is organized in 11 Faculties.
All international applicants for whom English is not the native tongue must provide proof of competence in the English language.

Twenty Fellowships for Developing Countries Students, 2017



Applications are invited for up to twenty UNESCO/ISEDC co-sponsored fellowship programme available in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation. This is a four weeks programme open for specific countries.
The aim of this fellowships programme is to enhance the capacity-building and human resources development in the area of sustainable and renewable energy sources in developing countries and countries in transition. The training activities in the framework of these fellowships are tenable in specialized institutions in the Russian Federation.
Since its creation UNESCO’s mission has been to contribute to the building of peace, poverty eradication, lasting development and intercultural dialogue, with education as one of its principal activities to achieve this aim.
Course Level: This is a four weeks fellowship programme.
Study Subject: The candidates may choose to study in the following fields of study, which are aligned with UNESCO’s objectives and programme priorities, as per approved 35 C/5 and in accordance with the decisions made by the Executive Board (161 EX/Decision 3.6.3 and 165 EX/Decision 8.6) :

Beneficiaries will be exempt of paying tuition fees for the entire duration of studies/training;
Fellows will undertake studies/training under the supervision of an advisor or study director that will be provided by the host institution;
The donor Government will pay stipends to beneficiaries on a monthly basis, in local currency. The stipend amounting to four hundred seventy (470) US dollars is intended to cover living expenses such as accommodation, meals, pocket expenses, and incidentals. The donor will determine the amount of the stipend to be granted to beneficiaries;
ISEDC will assist in obtaining modest housing for the fellows.
Facilities offered by UNESCO
UNESCO will cover the cost of the round-trip international travel at the most economical rate and the most direct flight.
UNESCO will pay a one-time travel allowance amounting to US$100 (one hundred US dollars) prior to the fellows’ departure for the Russian Federation.
Health insurance. To avail of this entitlement, beneficiaries should be declared medically fit by the UNESCO Medical Service that examines the complete medical dossiers.
Other Conditions 
No provisions can be made to finance or lodge the fellows’ family members.
Beneficiaries will be required to submit to UNESCO a short progress report co-signed with the academic supervisor at the end of the first month and a final report upon termination of the fellowship. These reports could be written in English or in French and copies of which will be furnished to ISEDC.
Visas
Selected fellows from countries where there are Russian Federation Embassies or Consulates must obtain their entry visa in their country prior to their departure. Fellows from countries where no such embassy/consulate exists must secure their visa through the nearest country where the Embassy or Consulate of the Russian Federation can be found.
UNESCO and ISEDC provide no allowance to defray passport and visa expenses.

Utrecht University Holland Scholarship in Netherlands, 2017-2018

The Holland Scholarship is a scholarship made available by the Dutch Ministry of Education Culture and Science together with Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.  It is meant for students who want to study or do research outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Turkey. The EEA consists of the EU countries and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
The Holland Scholarship Programme is the Netherlands’ national scholarship programme for both international and Dutch students. The aim of this programme is to raise the profile of Dutch higher education and to encourage student mobility both into and out of the Netherlands.
Course Level: Scholarship is available for pursuing research programme at one of the participating Dutch higher education institutions.
Study Subject: Scholarship is awarded in selected fields of study available at the participating Dutch research universities and universities of applied sciences.

Scholarship Award: The scholarship amounts to € 1,250 and is meant as a contribution towards your study or research expenses. There are approximately 45 scholarships available for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Young Professional Development Program (YPDP)

The Young Professional Development Program (YPDP) is a structured 2-3 year program that has been designed to attract and develop young professionals from OFID’s Member Countries, and aims at equipping them with the skills and knowledge needed to meet the minimum requirements for OFID’s entry level professional positions.
The YPDP will allow participants to become acquainted with OFID’s operations and how the different departments/units contribute to the achievement of the institution’s overall strategic and operational goals. Based on an Individual Development Plan, YPDP participants should spend at least 50% of the duration of the Program in the home department/unit. Through this Program, participants will gain valuable on-the-job experience, and they will also benefit from a coaching/counselling arrangement as well as a wide range of relevant training and developmental opportunities.
Upon completion of the Program, a participant may be offered employment at OFID, based on job availability, OFID’s manpower needs and the outcomes of his/her performance appraisal reviews.
Young Professionals are chosen through an intensive and rigorous selection process. Applicants accepted will join the Program in the last quarter of the year. Candidates who are offered a position in the YPDP shall respond within 2 weeks. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may be contacted for interviews.
