Elisabeth & Amelie Fund – Internship Grant

Description
The Elisabeth & Amelie Fund aims to instigate a new form of support for sustainable water management in developing countries by financing on-the-spot internships for students from developing countries who are studying in Belgium. Here, the Elisabeth & Amelie Fund takes into consideration an integrated approach to water management that includes technical and/or sociological aspects.. The internship will take place in a developing country (the student’s country of origin or another country). It will be tied to a master’s thesis or an equivalent) and under the responsibility of the Belgian academic institution where the student is studying. The duration of stay can vary between one and two months.

Eligibility
Students from developing countries who are studying for a master’s level degree (master’s, specialisation master’s or a second bachelor’s degree) that is linked to water management;
Nationals of a developing country (OECD-DAC countries);
Currently following an educational programme, master, bachelor after bachelor or master after master, at a BELGIAN educational institution (University or Haute Ecole);
The object of study must directly relate to the theme of water (access to water, protection or improvement of water quality or water management) and correspond with an integrated approach to the issue (technical and/or social aspects).
Scholarship
The grant will cover the expenses inherent to the internship, up to a maximum of 5.000 EUR per stay covers the costs associated with the stay. This includes, but is not limited to: costs of transportation (flight tickets), costs of accommodation (sleeping accommodation), costs of purchase/use of material.
The internship, which should last 1 to 2 months, must take place between December 2016 and the end of August 2017;
Ten grants shall be awarded.

Registration is compulsory if you wish to submit an application form.
Applications are submitted by the candidate,with the approval of the promotor/supervisor who agrees to take academic responsibility.
The student should submit a budget proposal as part of his application.
