External Relations Online Advocacy Trainee
We have an opening in our team for an online advocacy trainee in our External Relations and International Trade Practice. The successful applicant will have the challenging and exciting task of developing and implementing a long-term integrated social media strategy to support the European advocacy aims of a major client in the External Relations space.
The trainee will also be called upon to assist in other related activities, including monitoring, event management, design and video production.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a high level of spoken and written English, a passion for politics and good ideas to grow institutional social media accounts to develop a range of skills including digital campaigning, research and analysis, effective writing, event organisation, project management and client relations (the successful candidate will be client facing).
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have:
A University degree in EU affairs, international relations, communication, journalism, public relations, marketing or related subject;
Knowledge of the external relations field, notably with regards to East Asia would be a strong asset;
A valid EU work permit.
Competences
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Excellent online skills and demonstrable experience in managing a variety of social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Flickr);
A good understanding of the EU political environment and channels of influence;
Excellent command of English. Additional languages will be an asset;
Good knowledge of design and editing software will be an asset;
Excellent organisational skills;
Ability to work independently;
Good time management skills;
Attention to detail;
Customer service orientation;
Initiative;
Commitment;
Teamwork.

The position is for a full-time 6-month traineeship. A compensation package of EUR 1000/month will be offered to the successful applicant. The starting date for this position is as soon as possible.
