EurActiv is the leading EU policy media present in 12 EU capitals, publishes free EU news and facilitates EU policy debates for policy professionals in 12 languages. With 2.8+ million page views and 660,524 ‘unique visitors’ per month, EurActiv is the leading online media on EU affairs. The company has doubled its team size in recent years (to approx. 100 people including franchise partners) and has four main sources of income: Sponsorship, Membership Communication Packages, Advertising and Public contracts.
EurActiv.com operates a trainee scheme in London for recent graduates/junior professionals providing learning into EU policies. Interns can be allocated either to editorial or commercial depending on availability and abilities/experience.With the UK's relationship with 'Europe' under heightened strain and scrutiny, EurActiv is now looking for an:   

Editorial Intern - London
(Starting date: January 2015)

Responsibilities include :

• Source and prepare articles for publication regarding how EU policies affect UK policy
• Attend and report on UK events (most likely in London) of relevance to EU policy
• Interview UK-based stakeholders and source Op-Eds
• Validate and/or rewrite news on EU policies including views of UK stakeholders
• Accomplish various administrative tasks

Profile:

• School of Journalism or other equivalent studies
• Demonstrated interest in EU politics
• First experience in writing articles, blogs or other, but as a minimum a proven interest in journalism
• Native English as well as working knowledge of French (German is a plus)
• Fast, entrepreneurial, team-player, hard-working, “hands-on” approach
• Able to work independently
• Good phone, inter-personal skills and knowledge of MS Office
