2014 School of Arts Anniversary Scholarships for Postgraduate Research in UK

Birkbeck School of Arts will award up to 17 fully funded Postgraduate Research Scholarships. Anniversary scholarships are open to Home/EU and International students who are applying for a full-time MPhil/PhD place within the School of Arts, starting in the 2014/15 academic year. The Anniversary Scholarship awards will include a full fee waiver capped at the value of the full-time Home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees (currently £3,900), in addition to an annual stipend set at Research Council rates. The application deadline is 17th February 2014.
About Scholarship: Birkbeck School of Arts will award up to 17 fully funded Postgraduate Research Scholarships in 2014. These scholarships include a number of Birkbeck Anniversary Scholarships offered by the College to mark the 190th anniversary of its foundation. The competition for these awards will be decided on the basis of academic merit, with the results announced in spring 2014.
Study: Scholarships are provided in all areas of the following fields in the School of Arts:
-Cultural Studies
-English and Humanities
-European Studies (Culture and Languages)
-Media, Film and Television
-History of Art, Architecture, Photography and Museum Cultures
-Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Culture
Course Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing postgraduate research program at Birkbeck University of London. Scholarship Provider: Birkbeck University of London, UK Scholarship can be taken at: UK  
Eligibility: -Anniversary scholarships are open to Home/EU and International students who are applying for a full-time MPhil/PhD place within the School of Arts, starting in the 2014/15 academic year. Applications from Home/EU students for part-time study will also be considered (at an appropriate pro rata rate and extended duration).
-Exceptional School of Arts students currently enrolled in their first year of full-time, or first and second year of part-time study are also eligible to apply.
-Please note that in order to apply for funding you must also complete an MPhil/PhD programme application within the School of Arts. Your programme application must be submitted either before (strongly encouraged) or at the same time as applying for funding.
-Other full awards, such as the competition for AHRC studentships under named calls, will have separate application procedures. Please check the website for notifications, application procedures and staff contacts.

Scholarship Open for: UK/EU and International students can apply for these scholarships.
Number of awards: Up to 17 fully funded scholarships are offered.
Duration: Scholarships will be tenable for up to three years (subject to satisfactory academic progress) for full-time students, and at an appropriate pro rata rate and extended duration for part-time students.
Value: The Anniversary Scholarship awards will include a full fee waiver capped at the value of the full-time Home/EU rate for MPhil/PhD degrees (currently £3,900), in addition to an annual stipend set at Research Council rates (currently £15,726; pro rata in the case of a part-time award)
Selection criteria: The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit.
