TRAINEE PUBLIC POLICY Cable Europe - European Cable Communications Association

Cable Europe is a trade association that groups all leading broadband cable TV operators and their national trade associations throughout Europe. Cable Europe is a not-for-profit, non-commercial professional membership organisation. The European cable TV industry provides digital TV, broadband Internet and telephony services to more than 70 million customers. The Association has been active since 1955. The regulatory and public policy activities of Cable Europe aim to promote and defend the industry's policies and business interests at European and international level, and support the lobbying activities of its members.
We wish to appoint a Trainee Regulatory Affairs, working with the Cable Europe team. This is a full time position.
Job description
  • Description: Assist Cable Europe’s Regulatory Affairs Committee
  • Duration: 5 months
  • Starting Date: 1 January 2014
  • Paid traineeship
Main Responsibilities:
  • Support the organization and logistics of internal and external meetings
  • Drafting internal/external meetings’ reports
  • Writing information material for internal distribution
  • Monitor the activities of the EU institutions including legislative processes and public hearings
  • Preparing relevant background materials for meetings and conferences
  • Updating and maintaining files for the Regulatory Affairs Committee
  • Updating the Brussels’ contact database on a regular basis
The ideal candidate would:
  • Hold a university degree in European Studies.
  • Be fluent in English (verbally with excellent writing skills), other EU languages an advantage.
  • Be familiar with the EU institutions’ processes.
  • Have previous internship experience from Brussels, preferably in one of the EU institutions.
  • Be a team player who can work proactively and independently.
  • Strong motivational skills/ability to work in a small team, independence and strong attention to detail.
