2014-2015 CASBS-Residential Fellowship Program at Stanford University in USA

Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences is funding residential postdoctoral fellowship program for scientists and scholars from USA and abroad at Stanford University in USA. Applications will be accepted for the 2014-15 fellowship year by October 3, 2013. The length of fellowship is of nine months and it covers stipends, research allowance, accommodation facility etc. 
About Scholarship: CASBS Fellowships have been awarded to scholars working in a diverse range of disciplines. These include the five core social and behavioral disciplines of anthropology, economics, political science, psychology and sociology as well as scholars from a wide range of humanistic disciplines, education, linguistics and the biological sciences. We expect Fellows to ask challenging questions of themselves and others. We also expect Fellows to work hard on their scholarly pursuits. Individuals who have been here often describe their center experience as productive, transformative and the best year of their entire career. In addition, we expect members of group projects to define metrics for “success,” and periodically to evaluate their progress according to those metrics. 
Study: The fellowship is awarded in social and behavioral disciplines of anthropology, economics, political science, psychology and sociology as well as scholars from a wide range of humanistic disciplines, education, linguistics and the biological sciences.
Course Level: This fellowship is for pursuing postdoctoral level at CASBS.

Eligibility: The Center offers a residential postdoctoral fellowship program for scientists and scholars from this country and abroad. 
Scholarship Open for: Scholars from International and USA are eligible for this 
Duration: Fellowships can be awarded for a single semester only. Fellows able to stay for the 9-month academic year. 
Value: Stipends for the academic year will be awarded to first-time Fellows to supplement faculty sabbatical support. Returning Fellows are expected to provide their own stipend. All Fellows are provided with a modest research allowance.The Center does make an effort to accommodate partners and spouses who need to do academic work and who have no academic office in the vicinity. Staff support services are reserved for CASBS Fellows. The Center provides a range of services designed to make Fellows more effective and efficient while in residence, including:
•library assistance
•network and personal computer maintenance and support
•fax and mail services
•administrative services
•pleasant work spaces at the Center
•housing information for relocating to the Palo Alto area for the fellowship year. 

Selection Criteria: Final roster decisions (for all scholars requesting consideration, including past Fellows) take into account a range of criteria for cohort composition, including, but not limited to: disciplinary balance, institution diversity, and demographic diversity (race/ethnicity, gender, career stage, domestic/international, geographic location). 
Notification: Notifications regarding the 2014-15 fellowship selection results will be sent via email in mid-February 2014.
