2013 IMPRS-PMPG Doctoral Fellowships in Germany

Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology offers doctoral fellowships for IMPRS-PMPG (International Max Planck Research School “Primary Metabolism and Plant Growth”) programme in plant genomics and systems biology. The programme is provided at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology and the University of Potsdam in Germany. 
About Scholarship: The International Max Planck Research School “Primary Metabolism and Plant Growth” (IMPRS-PMPG) is a doctoral programme in plant genomics and systems biology at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology and the University of Potsdam. Talented graduate students are accepted into the programme at regular intervals.

Eligibility:
-Highly motivated students who can tackle scientific problems in modern plant biology.
-To be accepted as a doctoral student, you must hold a Master, Diploma, or equivalent degree in a subject like biology, biochemistry, chemistry, physics, informatics, mathematics, or related fields.
-The IMPRS-PMPG doctoral programme is open for students from all countries. 
Scholarship Open for: The International students can apply for this fellowship.
Duration: 3 years 
Cover: The fellowships cover living expenses and include a bursary for conference travel, lab visits etc. For students living expenses, they will have approximately 1,100 Euro per month. Bench fees and consumables are covered by the hosting lab. In exceptional cases, a bursary for bench fees and consumables will be granted. This will be decided on a case-by-case basis. There are no tuition fees for the doctoral programmes except for the semester fee charged by the University for immatriculation. 
Notification:
First shortlist: The first shortlist will be created in the first half of February. They will contact student’s referees by mid-February if they are on this shortlist.
Invitations for interviews: Decisions about whom Institute invite for interviews will be made in the first half of March. Invitations will be sent out by mid-March.
Interview workshop: The selection interviews will be held in the week beginning April 8th, 2013.
