Internship in the Knowledge and Stakeholder Services Department
The Transparency International Secretariat (TI-S) is seeking a highly motivated intern for the Knowledge and Stakeholder Services (KSS) Department in the Knowledge and Research Group, starting in February 2013 for a period of 6 months.
The Knowledge and Stakeholder Services Department provides a variety of demand-driven knowledge products and services to a wide range of anti-corruption stakeholders. The intern will support the production and dissemination of knowledge products, assist learning initiatives, and perform administrative duties.
Transparency International (TI) is the global civil society organisation leading the fight against corruption. Through more than 90 chapters worldwide and an international secretariat in Berlin, Germany, TI raises awareness of the damaging effects of corruption and works with partners in government, business and civil society to develop and implement effective measures to tackle it.
Main function: Assist the research, analysis, organisational and administrative work of the team on a variety of corruption related themes.
Starting date: 1 February 2013
Duration: Six months; full time Monday to Friday
Department: Knowledge and Stakeholder Services
Remuneration: EUR 400 (according to the German labour and social security law)
Location: Berlin, Germany
Key tasks:
The department’s intern will be asked to perform key tasks related to the research, knowledge exchange and learning functions of team, as well as a modest amount of administrative duties.

- Sharing anti-corruption knowledge via webinars, social media and online platforms
- Assisting the Anti-corruption Helpdesk with background research as needed to respond to demand-driven queries and with management of the experts-database
- Supporting the management of TI’s academic outreach activities, namely the anti-corruption research network (http://corruptionresearchnetwork.org/) and the student research projects
- Supporting the publication and dissemination of the Global Corruption Report
- Contributing to research and advocacy activities required for the production and publishing of TI’s working and policy position paper series
- Supporting department’s administrative work on related knowledge activities, as well as the department’s Director
- Advanced university degree in public policy, international law, international studies, development economics or a related social science field
- Strong research and writing skills required; editing experience preferred
- Some background in current anti-corruption discourse, policies and players required
- Previous experience working in a think tank or non-governmental organization an advantage
- Experience working with social media and online platforms an advantage
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-pace office environment, multi-task projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Arabic, French and/or Spanish language skills an asset
